The Nordic countries make up a region in Northern Europe and the North Atlantic, consisting of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden as well as their associated territories, the Ã…land Islands, the Faroe Islands, Greenland, and Svalbard and Jan Mayen.

But that term more properly refers only to Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
